Here is Backpad, a all-in-one MIDI controller made for finger drummers with detachable pedals, inspired by a well known portable videogame. 16 pads and controls that allow portable drumming experience with hands and feet. And it fits in your backpack. That's Backpad.

The pedals were designed with two possible actuations, for kick drum and hihat. That's possible with a force sensitive resistor for the kick, and a IR distance sensor for sweep actuation.

This product was developed as a final project for the Product Design graduation in the  UEMG Escola de Design. Everything, from the mechanical design, PCB design, Arduino programming, packaging design and prototyping was done in the course of one year, by me.
